Concord Music Group's Summer Blowout Sale.
Now, I'm still a jazz newbie, but at these prices ($2.98 ea. when you buy 30+) I had to kick-start my collection. At $2.98 each, I can easily sell off the titles I don't want to keep for at least as much as I paid for them. I picked up a lot of the K2 remasters, including Monk's Music, Monk & Coltrane, Red Garland's Piano, Davis' Bag's Groove, Coltrane's Lush Life, Modern Jazz Quartet's Django, Wes Montgomery's Incredible Jazz Guitar, and Sonny Rollins' The Sound of Sonny. Many of the K2 titles are being reissued as Rudy Van Gelder (RVG) remasters (that's why they're phasing these out), but many jazz aficionados seem to prefer the sound of the K2s to the RVGs, so I'm happy to be picking them up (at such a low price) while they're still around.
FYI: The K2s are the ones with the thick border around a small image of the original artwork (like this). _________________ Michael Scrutchin
