My wife and I had aisle seats on the main floor, with completely unobstructed sight lines. The Pabst is a terrific place to catch live music; we saw Jenny Lewis there a few weeks ago, too.
Neko was suffering from a cold, but was in good spirits and still sounded otherworldly. I was surprised to hear how well the new songs stack up against the old. I was perhaps a little bummed that she skipped "A Widow's Toast" and "Margaret Vs. Pauline" from the new album, but if cutting those was necessary for me to hear perfect versions of "I Wish I Was the Moon" and "Deep Red Bells," then so be it.
What did you think of Martha Wainwright? I enjoyed her set, but, like her albums, I heard nothing that would inspire me to actually buy her stuff.
Side note: The preshow music included Wilco's "Shot In the Arm" and "I Got You" back-to-back, so that made me happy. There was some Belle & Sebastian and M. Ward, too. _________________ "When I was in Barcelona they showed pornography on regular television. I'm assuming it's the same way in Mexico since they also speak Spanish." - IMDb user comment |
