Is MTV's My Super Sweet 16 the most disgusting show on TV?
Each episode is the same. Whiny, spoiled, self-centered rich brat walks all over her parents, who, of course, still throw their pretty little princess a ridiculously expensive Sweet Sixteen party. It's an unabashed celebration of excess and vanity that just goes to show: beauty, popularity, and temper tantrums are the keys to getting what you want in life. _________________ Michael Scrutchin

I was only able to sit through a quarter of an episode but, yes, Michael, you're absolutely right about the subjects being disgusting. (Danny's question is valid too -- MTV is only really television on a rudimentary level, IMO. Anybody remember the good ole days of MTV?) But I got the impression that the show, from what I saw during the time I could tolerate it, is slyly holding these spoiled little girls in a bad (or possibly accurate?) light. MSS16 strikes me as the kind of program that is often referred to as "mean reality." I wouldn't say that makes it more virtuous or palatable, but, like Jerry Springer, I think the viewer is intended to sort of despise the people on this show. _________________ "If you're talking about censorship, and what things should be shown and what things shouldn't be shown, I've said that as an artist you have no social responsibility whatsoever."

I agree its the dumbest show on TV and the fact that they think what they are doing is fine is what makes it worse. _________________ One day you will look behind you and you will see we three, and on that day, you will repent, and we will send you to whatever god you wish.
