Im just wondering where all of you stand on this. I personally feel it is stupid to have the president elect the next justice if only based upon the fact that most presidents have very little knowledge on the judicial process. It is true that a great deal of themw ere lawyers, but they basically use that as a mere figurehead to get into politics. In my opinion a justice should be elected by the other members of the supreme court. _________________ One day you will look behind you and you will see we three, and on that day, you will repent, and we will send you to whatever god you wish.

You wouldn't be saying that if the president was Clinton and his nomination was Ginsberg. _________________ Danny Baldwin

Yes I would. I think that the court itself should decide because they would have the best chance of picking someone who is not grossly in any extreame. Radical and vastly conservative veiws should not overtake any member. _________________ One day you will look behind you and you will see we three, and on that day, you will repent, and we will send you to whatever god you wish.
