Has anyone else seen the full-page ad for the DVD of Bowling for Columbine? The largest graphic is a picture of Moore at the Academy Awards, holding his Oscar in one hand, flashing the peace sign with the other. Text informs us that the DVD includes his acceptance speech.
As much as I admire the film, Moore's speech now seems more like a PR stunt than ever before.

Well, even though you have to let the fact that I'm as conservative as they come, go, I have to say, Moore should be embarrassed by that speech. And, what baffles me more, is that at first, he stated that he felt it was an awful speech, and that it was "rushed because I didn't expect to win." Now, it seems like, on the DVD, he's acting like he's proud of it, now. But, it once again, created controversy, so I guess he should. _________________ Danny Baldwin

Moore is a fat idiot, and although he makes a lot of good points he tends to blow things way out of porpotion. But I guess to over-dramatize everything is the best way to gain publicity. However, I have seen documentaries that use far subtler methods in them then he chooses to do. Take for example "The Gleaners and I", which talks about how much our society wastes and the vast differences between the rich and poor, many of the same topics that Moore covers, however the methods in the use movie and far less upfront and the director does not choose to assault the people it is criticizing as Moore so often does. What Moore needs is a reality check and a diet.

Why is it that so many of Moore's detractors bring up his weight? _________________ Michael Scrutchin

Have I? Nope. Hmm...well than I would be (a very small) hypocrite. I do agree with the reality check part, the idiot part, and the diet part (may it be irrelevant), though. _________________ Danny Baldwin

As long as it has an audio commentary, I'll shell out $20 to replace my screener copy (legally obtained, of course). _________________ "Film lovers are sick people."
