Going into my Netflix queue: The Manson Family and F for Fake.
Gonna buy: Undertow, David Gordon Green's '70s drive-in style Southern Gothic mood piece/dreamy kids-on-the-run-from-evil fairy tale a la Night of the Hunter. I dig it a lot, if not nearly as much as Green's All the Real Girls. Another film from last year that happened to get a few Night of the Hunter comparisons is also streeting tomorrow: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Haven't seen it -- should I? _________________ Michael Scrutchin

I'm very, very interested in Undertow and I will probably buy Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events just 'cuz it's superior to all of the other fantasies of its sort. _________________ Danny Baldwin

What a terrific week!
I'm most excited for the Wajda and Surrealism sets, followed by The Assassination of Richard Nixon, Undertow, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, and especially F is for Fake.
I'm also going to check out the Chomsky doc, Lemony Snicket--say what you will, but Jim Carrey is one of the most vibrant voices in American cinema--and Blade: Trinity. Woo-hoo, Ryan Reynolds is way buff!
