A close friend of mine is currently involved with Teach For America, and is working in a Baltimore junior high. Yesterday he sent this to me:
"I know I haven't been emailing a lot lately and was thinking about saying hi and telling everyone what's up with me. However, after I read this article I realized that it does a much better and funnier job of describing my life at this point:

p.s. Even though it's the Onion, this article is scary accurate. I am convinced whoever wrote it was in Teach for America or that it is literally about someone he/she knows."

My friend Shannon is also doing Teach For America in New Orleans, which has one of the worst school districts in the country. I can only imagine...
