Phil Hall, an editor and film critic for Film Threat, has written a book:
The Encyclopedia of Underground Movies: Films from the Fringes of Cinema
I've known Phil Hall since my days in the Online Film Critics Society (he was one of the three governing members when I left), and he probably has the most comprehensive knowledge of current micro-budget, underground cinema than any other critic I know of. After giving him congrats on the publishing of his book in another forum, he told me that I'm actually quoted in the book (along with several other online critics). I've been quoted on DVD covers and in home-video press releases before (mostly for micro-budget movies most folks have never heard of and never will), but being quoted in a book is a bit more exciting -- it's not just somebody trying to sell something with my words.
You can read a sample chapter and view the table of contents here.
And you can order it from there, or from Amazon.com.
Anyway, I just ordered my copy, and I can't wait to read it. _________________ Michael Scrutchin

This sounds pretty cool, Michael. I'll put it on my Amazon Wish-List. I have an interest in microbudget movies, but it's difficult to ascertain what might be worth shelling out a couple bucks for, and what should be avoided. So far, I've been lucky and haven't encountered any absolute stinkers. _________________ "If you're talking about censorship, and what things should be shown and what things shouldn't be shown, I've said that as an artist you have no social responsibility whatsoever."
