Here's the sweetest news of the year:
"Sony Pictures Releasing is planning to release many of the classic silent films of legendary comedian Harold Lloyd, it said Wednesday. The company announced that it had acquired rights to all of Lloyd's shorts and features -- some 200 in all -- and would release them, restored and uncut, beginning next year." -Internet Movie Database

Very cool. I haven't seen a Harold Lloyd flick probably since my late teens. I found a couple of his movies on DVD in two- or three-packs with Buster Keaton flicks and other old comedians I'd never heard of, but decided to hold out for some kind of "official" release. Guess it don't get more official than this. Can't wait. _________________ "If you're talking about censorship, and what things should be shown and what things shouldn't be shown, I've said that as an artist you have no social responsibility whatsoever."

I haven't seen any Lloyd. But I just dropped Kino's Harold Lloyd Collection into my Netflix queue, so that'll be rectified soon. _________________ Michael Scrutchin
