I thought this might be an interesting thread...
My faves are:
A Christmas Story
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (old animated version)
Home Alone
Any other thoughts?
Also, i'm interesting in seeing Polar Express this winter, cuz the book has been a fave of mine for years. _________________ *Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion* |

I'll second A Christmas Story and Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and add that every April we have a spring training fest: It Happens Every Spring and Pride of the Yankees.
My favorite Christmas film, though, is 1951's A Christmas Carol, with Alastair Sim as Scrooge.

I agree full heartedly to A Christmas Story. Since I was born we have watched that every christmas, and even now nearly 17 years later I laugh at every comidic moment. I usually catch the marathon on TNT and watch it atleast 3 times from Christmas Eve to the end of Christmas Day. It is easily the greatest Christmas movie EVER! _________________ One day you will look behind you and you will see we three, and on that day, you will repent, and we will send you to whatever god you wish.

A Christmas Story: If I could have only one movie to watch the rest of my life, this one might just be it.
A Nightmare Before Christmas
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
oh, and...

My favorite Halloween movie is Carnival of Souls. Totally gets me in the mood!
And of course my favorite Valentines Day movie is From Justin to Kelly. Justin, you are a captivating lothario... _________________ "I don't like talking to people I know, but strangers I have no problem with." -- Larry David, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" |

Good call. I saw this one again last year for the first time in a long time, and I was surprised by how well it holds up. Not a great movie, but an entertaining one. _________________ "If you're talking about censorship, and what things should be shown and what things shouldn't be shown, I've said that as an artist you have no social responsibility whatsoever."

Obviously Chippewhite's a studio shill, so he/she probably won't appreciate it when I say that Polar Express looks more like a Halloween movie to me. That trailer--grotesque both in terms of visuals and sap--is downright chilling.
