Anyone seen any of his films? I'm thinking of buying Damnation and Werckmeister Harmonies on DVD.
And does anyone know where I can find Santatango? |

I'm been trying to get my hands on his stuff for ages, but whoever owns the distribution rights obviously doesn't want most of us to see it, for whatever reason. Werckmeister Harmonies played in Milwaukee for a weekend a while back in a college theater, but I was too busy to attend. Unfortunately, the closest I've come to Tarr is to watch the last few Van Sant pictures.

I've seen some clips from The Werckmeister Harmonies and read a few reviews. Sounds intriguing, but, like Eric said, they don't seem to be available in the US. If you buy them let us know what you think. _________________ "If you're talking about censorship, and what things should be shown and what things shouldn't be shown, I've said that as an artist you have no social responsibility whatsoever."

Region 2, I assume? No Tarr seems available R1, yet. I do have a codefree machine for just such purposes, though... maybe I'll order something online.

Yes, it's Region 2. Just you look at this great website.
By the way, I watched Damnation this morning. Read my review right here.
Comments are most welcome, Beltmann. |

Here in Milwaukee, a few of my friends recently started up an "invitation only" screening series in their house. In March, the film was Pierrot le Fou, and April 11 it's Werckmeister Harmonies. I'll be there. |

By the way, Werckmeister Harmonies is even better. One of the best films I've seen; captiavting, alluring, mystical and beautiful. There are only 39 shots in it, and the film is about 145 minutes long!
Tarr is a genius after all. |
