Got irrational fear?
Myself, I'm terrified of deep, dark, still bodies of water. I swim like I have gills in pools or rivers, but the thought of bobbing helplessly in a lake or the ocean sends chills up my spine. I nearly had a panic attack the first time I saw The Abyss in the theater.
So what are your phobias ... or are ya too chicken to tell?! _________________ "If you're talking about censorship, and what things should be shown and what things shouldn't be shown, I've said that as an artist you have no social responsibility whatsoever."

I don't mind spiders, but I have an intense aversion to cockroaches.
I'm also deeply afraid of drowning or suffocating. I often had nightmares of drowning in swimming pools or in the ocean as a child and the thought still terrifies me (though I still go swimming; I'm just very cautious). _________________ Michael Scrutchin

Imagining that I'm in the trunk of a car with no-one to help me frightens me quite a lot, actually. But I don't think I have any real phobias... |

Yeah, I loathe cockroaches -- I have to deal with them a lot where I live -- but it's not really a phobia; I just find them disgusting. Same with flies. Spiders creep me out, but I think they're actually pretty cool, and I generally tolerate them, even encourage them, living in my yard since eat other insects. If I find any in the house I catch them and set them loose outside.
I don't think I'm claustrophobic, but the idea of being trapped in a restricted area makes me uncomfortable.
My wife is afraid of moths and butterflies, believe it or not. Oh, the fun I've had catching them and chasing her around with them. I guess there are some things we never outgrow. Other people's fears are fun. _________________ "If you're talking about censorship, and what things should be shown and what things shouldn't be shown, I've said that as an artist you have no social responsibility whatsoever."

On a scale of 9 to 10, I'm a 9 in terms of being allergic to cochrocaches, but I wouldn't consider them a phobia...I think my greatest phobia is rattle-snakes, since I know some of them are looming on my property, always. You should've seen me taking out the trash in the dark...I looked down every five seconds; they creep the hell out of me. _________________ Danny Baldwin

If I have any type of phobia at all, it's this... Not sure what it is called exactly... Does anyone know? Is it thalassophobia, fear of sea? That said, I am looking forward to OPEN WATER! _________________ "A film is - or should be - more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. I find white suburban kids who wear G-Unit clothes, listen to rap, and consider themselves "ganstas" highly disturbing. _________________ everybody knows that you only live a day/ but its brilliant anyway |

I'm looking forward to Open Water too. Masochist.
Bathophobia is fear of depth, which sounds more precise to me. It's not the surface that frightens me, but the thought of all that dark, cold, suffocating space below. _________________ "If you're talking about censorship, and what things should be shown and what things shouldn't be shown, I've said that as an artist you have no social responsibility whatsoever."

Exactly, that sounds correct. Not knowing what can happen, or what is lurking below is frightening. _________________ "A film is - or should be - more like music than like fiction.
