Hi there!
I've just seen a movie called "15 minutes" about two stupid jerks from Russia and Czech republic who got instantly insane in the country of pop media and strive for success. I know my response is kind of outdated since the movie was made a couple of years ago. But I would respond anyway.
Guys, Russians never, NEVER listen to "Kalinka" song. They would better die than hear it. Especially in an American movie. Yes, it is a Russian song, but it is so old and so specific that it is strange even to think about singing it. And when the Russians drink, they never, NEVER say that shit :"Na zdorovie", or how you pronounce it. I am 29 years old, I live in Moscow which is famous all over Europe for it's night life, I've visited hundreds of parties and drunk tons of cocktails. And neither I nor anyone around me said "Na zdorovie" or sang "Kalinka".
I think that your movie makers consider you guys as not very smart. Otherwise they would'n make such movies full of fullish stereotypes and bullshit. I am talking here just about the way the Russians usually are being shown, but it concerns other matters too. I can mention "Armageddon" movie with the drunk Russian cosmonaut, several James Bond movies, showing total bullshit regarding the Russians and so forth.
Humiliation of the others is the symptom of poor mind and lack of self respect of those who constantly do it, remember it, guys.
After all we do not view all of you gyus as cowboys and KKK members who lynch poor negroes (or how you politically correctly call them "african americans".)

No disagreements from me. But please don't assume that all Americans are represented by Hollywood and its lame ethnic stereotypes and provincialism. In the same way that the opinions of a president don't reflect the opinions of every last citizen, Hollywood doesn't speak for all of us. To forget that is to make the same generalizations--and mistakes--that Hollywood does.
As a side note, Hollywood pumps out plenty of movies that don't accurately represent Americans, either. It's an industry that dispenses insults without regard to borders.
