Ok, so Anna Nicole Smith passes away today, not a good start to the day. Very sad to see someone trying so hard to get it together die just after having a baby. Next week on DVD we have The Departed and Half Nelson. Half Nelson kind of fits the sad mood today. It is a very sad at times movie about an inner city school teacher who has a major crack addiction that gets him involved with one of his students in ways that he never imagined. He's up for the Oscar for his part in this movie, and I really think he deserves it. We'll find out in a couple of weeks!

This is one of the most transparent, disgusting examples of exploitation I have ever seen. This actually makes me less likely to rent Half Nelson.
