Yahoo! News story:

YouTube to share revenue with users

A few other video-sharing sites already share revenue with content providers (Revver, Metacafe), but none of them have the reach and audience of YouTube. Done right, this could be huge.

Of course, with money now entering the equation, this brings up a big question: Are all the girls dancing around in their underwear to "My Humps" and "Bootylicious" gonna have to start paying royalties to the Black Eyed Peas and Destiny's Child?

I saw a news-story on other paid video sites just a couple of days ago.

It'll be interesting to see how YouTube operates this. The other sites usually just pay a flat-rate to anyone who makes their "Hot Videos" page, but YouTube is so expansive that that would be too exclusive to motivate people.
