A massive board can be exciting, but a small one can be intimate and personal. Both have their virtues.
As for me, this is the only board I frequent. I'll take discretion and sophistication over quantity any day.

I absolutely agree, but what if we can have those three elements? Sure, trolls are bound to come but if we make an effort (however tiny or big) film-loving and intellectual people will come, too. And that's an encouraging thought. |

I love the small, smart group we have now. I welcome new members, of course, but to be honest, I don't want an overly active discussion forum. I like to keep things leisurely paced around here.

Oh, definitely. On big boards, you simply aren't heard. In seconds, their onto another topic. That's why RT and JoBlo don't work for me.
