I really like Miles Davis, but I don't think I've heard "Yesternow." Sounds terrific, though.

"Yesternow" is on Miles Davis' tribute to Jack Johnson, which only has two songs on it: that and "Right Off." It's part of his late 1960's-early 1970's work, when he was experimenting more in improvisational jams than in the jazz compositions of the 1950's. They're wildly different than his collaborations with Gil Evans. Both styles are oustanding, which is what I like most about Miles: no matter what form he was dabbling in, he was a pioneering jazz musician.
The Reputation is some very cool stuff, in my opinion. |

I only recently started listening to Miles Davis -- and jazz in general, really. I started with the obvious: Kind of Blue, which is beautiful, and I also picked up the Columbia/Legacy remastered CD reissues of 'Round About Midnight and Sketches of Spain. I haven't really dug into those two yet. I started listening to John Coltrane's My Favorite Things right after Kind of Blue, and I warmed up to both albums almost immediately (they're melodic and easily accessible for jazz newbies). Those are the only jazz CDs I own right now, but I'm eager for recommendations if ya have any. I'll definitely seek out Yesternow. _________________ Michael Scrutchin

I was listening to that earlier today. I saw Coheed and Cambria live at local club a couple of years ago and bought the CD the next day. I still haven't picked up their new CD, but I dig the MP3s on their site. They played the Warped Tour in Houston yesterday, and I'm kinda upset that I missed out.
Lately, I've been listening to lot of Neko Case's Blacklisted and Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain. _________________ Michael Scrutchin
