Playlist:
- "Mail Me," Dessart
- "Puzzle," Dessart
- "Suicide Kiss," Rolly
- "Love Theme," Hasegawa Tomoki
- "Write Once," Dessart
All from the Suicide Club soundtrack. The movie floored me, and the soundtrack made such an impression that I had to hunt down the MP3s online (I'd gladly buy a soundtrack CD if one was available). Dessart's ultra-peppy Japanese teen-pop is insanely infectious, while Rolly's "Suicide Kiss" is an unsettling, bizarre sing-along anthem, and composer Hasegawa Tomoki's "Love Theme" is lush, haunting, and deeply moving. But, yeah, the movie pretty much confirms what I knew all along: teen pop music will be the death of us all.

I'm listening to Brian Wilson's Smile right now, and it's some sort of schizophrenic wonder; it's my third fave of the year so far (after Madvillainy by Madvillain and Bjork's Medulla). _________________ "I don't like talking to people I know, but strangers I have no problem with." -- Larry David, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" |

I just plopped in Radiohead's Kid A for the first time in three years, and I have been rocking out in my room for the last forty-five minutes, which is totally unlike me. _________________ Danny Baldwin

Kid A is superb. It's literally impossible for me to choose a favorite Radiohead album, they all have their own unique beauty in my opinion. Do you like Bjork, Danny? I'm just sorta curious because I've been listening to Medulla almost constantly of late. It's utterly gorgeous. _________________ "I don't like talking to people I know, but strangers I have no problem with." -- Larry David, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" |
