As a straight thriller, David Gale is without question engaging. I don't really have too many qualms with its mission as a piece of propaganda, I was just stunned by how terribly it failed in its objectives. Honestly, it could have been made by rabid pro-death penalty advocates to show just how looney and disingenuous those anti-death penalty advocates really are. Its failure is almost more fascinating to me than if the film had succeded. _________________ "If you're talking about censorship, and what things should be shown and what things shouldn't be shown, I've said that as an artist you have no social responsibility whatsoever."

I enjoyed Versus tremendously, myself. However- and I've never actually come across this before- after the second viewing I found myself to have little patience with it. I had a great time watching it the first few times, but further attempts to sit through have been unsuccessful, and I found myself getting very annoyed at the film. Perhaps there's nothing else to discover once you've seen twice. But it was great fun that first time, even though it's about half-an-hour too long. |

That was my experience with Braveheart. _________________ "If you're talking about censorship, and what things should be shown and what things shouldn't be shown, I've said that as an artist you have no social responsibility whatsoever."

I'll chime in with Forrest Gump.

Bad Boys II was most definately the worst film of 2003. Michael Bay should not be allowed legally to make films. It's just a crime. _________________ Check out my own (considerably cheaper) review site at http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=TheRingbearer11 |
