Can't complain about 8-8, I suppose. It's shocking that we entered Week 17 without having been mathematically eliminated... if ever there was a year for a deeply mediocre NFC team to make the playoffs, this was it. Thing is, the Pack was only mediocre in the last third of the season--the rest of the year they were deeply bad.
I have mixed feelings about Favre. At the end of last season, I wanted him to step aside and give space for Rodgers to practice in a risk-free rebuilding year. Now, though, I want him to get that career TD record, and it might be fun seeing him gun for the playoffs one last time. Based on the last few games, and with the right off-season moves, this team could, perhaps, help Favre retire as a winner.
Favre already said he wouldn't come back merely for stats--which is what every athlete says, but no athlete means. Even though he emotionally broke down after the Chicago game, I still think the odds of his returning are 50-50. _________________ "When I was in Barcelona they showed pornography on regular television. I am very happy that Favre is coming back. The pessimists can say anything they want to, he is still a great quarterback and the best leader for this team. We have a lot of work to do in the off-season, but I think it is manageable, and in the NFC, anyone can be a contender. There are lots of rumors going around that we are considering trading for Randy Moss. It took me a couple weeks to even contemplate this move, but in all sincerity, I would look to trade Ferguson and 2nd or 3rd round pick for Moss. If this works out, Favre will have 3 good receivers and a more explosive offense than he's had in 10 years. We also need to try to make a move to trade KGB and Bubba Franks. While I like both of these players, neither is up to par with their A game. I think we then need to adress the positions of Safety to replace Manuel, TE to fill the vacancy there, and RB to back up and possibly replace Green if he doesn?t continue to improve. It seems like a lot, but with a few moves we could be right in the mix of things. _________________ One day you will look behind you and you will see we three, and on that day, you will repent, and we will send you to whatever god you wish.
